...and then I decided to bike across the country

Hello all!

I can't believe this is all happening!!! I'm officially signed up for the Northern US Bike&Build route, I've received my cyclist handbook, "friended" just about all the other people on my trip and started the fundraising process!! Last week, I hit the $500 mark for fundraising...THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone that already contributed! It's amazing to see such enormous generosity from so many people already!

I'm hoping this blog will be a great way for friends and family to experience Bike&Build right along with me! I'll be keeping track of training, fundraising, and preparations before I leave for New Hampshire. Once we "hit the pavement", I expect to be able to update this blog every week or so to tell everyone how the ride is going! (and hopefully to verify that I am still alive and didn't pass out on the side of the road in the middle of who-knows-where)

I also want to recognize all the people that have made this adventure possible for me!! First of all, THANK YOU to my wonderful parents and family for supporting me in this decision...I SWEAR I'll have a real job soon!! Thank you to everyone who has and will donate to this cause in my name...you are making a huge difference in my life and countless more across the country! Finally, thank you to all the B&B alumni for spreading the word of this amazing organization and being a total inspiration to me and all the 2010 riders! Ali Kolste (NUS09) gets a special thank you shout out for answering millions of my questions about B&B and for helping me train in MN once the weather gets nice (and that includes Ms. Tori Kolste as well)!

This weekend I'll be sending out dozens of donation letters...wish me luck!
